"Catch UP" Kodiak trip

I am going to use the phrase "catch Up" because I tend to be dormant from blogging but theres so much I want to share but it takes time lol! So heres one of my first "catch Ups" from this last summer. Our first trip to Kodiak, it was amazingly beautiful. We spent just about 3 days there and I think it is a great place to go for a spur of the moment trip if your from Alaska of course. It is so family friendly and the beaches are just gorgeous. We stayed at a cute B&B overlooking the ocean. We rented a car and drove the only road system there which probably was just around 2 hours of drive time one way. If you are able to get out and explore you can probably see some amazing things. Mostly we did sight seeing from the car and a little hiking and lots of beach exploration. Great trip to bring our little buggy on! Definately one to revisit again.

Meet the Fam

This was recently taken on a drive towards Eureka , it was beautiful but very cold.

We love taking Coleman on walks on the back trails behind our house ,pulling him in his little sled. So much fun~!

I would like you to meet my family! Clay is my husband,friend,better half etc.. and our sweetest little guy Coleman (aka Buggy) and other unfortunate nicknames lol!

Christmas tree hunting ,right in our own backyard.

Tis that time of year again ,Christmas time!! That means getting a tree. In our family it is "taboo" to go buy a Christmas tree. So it is pretty much a tradition every year to go tree hunting. Which I should let you know now that if any activity has the word hunting in it , that pretty much means the guys are all over it. So this year we took Tatonka or (aka buffalo ) our lifted Ford truck ( I will explain the name in a later post). We usually go on snow machines or snow mobiles as some people call it especially if your not from Alaska , but this year we took my niece and nephew and our new addition in our family little Coleman, he is 19 months old and looovvvvessss trucks and pretty much anything else that has wheels. He calls them "nun nunns", courtesy of his grandpa , one of his favorite persons. Back to the story , so we head down to a road called Buffalo Mine ,what a coincidence ;D and drive down towards the end where the pavement ends trying to spot for that perfect alaskan spruce tree. This December was the best we had as far as snow goes , the last few years has always been windy and cold , so it always blows all our snow away. They say Palmer is known for its wind. The weather was pretty snowy that day and that makes it kind of tough to spot a good tree, besides it being so snowy the snow piles high on top of the trees so you have to shake the tree to see if its worth getting. So we looked and looked and tromped through the waist deep snow and just could not find what we were looking for. My neice Elizabeth said we were being to picky. So we ended up driving out and turned down ol' tried and true Murphy road and we spotted a tree right off the side of the road that turned out to be the perfect one . Even though I told Clay my husband , that if its still there right off the side of the road that means that nobody wanted it , so it must be an ugly tree. I was proved wrong and I think it was just missed because all the snow hid it , either that or it was private land....... hmmmm......Well, Welcome to one of many Alaskan Adventures to come lol!
